Manufacturing Learning Australia is the NSW industry training advisory body for the process manufacturing industries, contracted to provide advice about industry training needs and related issues to the Department of Education and Training (DET).

In order to do this, we consult widely with enterprises, industry associations, unions, Registered Training Organisations and other stakeholders.

Our brief is to report on many aspects of the training system including Training Packages, learning resources, industry demand for training and skills, New Apprenticeships, traineeships and 'traditional' apprenticeships, VET in schools and accreditation of Registered Training Organisations.

We are in a position to convey detailed information to DET about industry's current and future training and skills requirements, the quality and relevance of the national Training Packages and the need for training resources. It is also an opportunity to report to the government about industry's experiences of the training system, for example, ease of access to high quality customised training.

We also want to provide DET with information about the issues facing Registered Training Organisations, and their experiences of the training system.
